Poul M. Volther was a prolific and interestingly insightful designer that saw potential in many things that others could not. He was a trained cabinet-maker and later he graduated from The School of Arts and Crafts. As a teacher at The Danish School of Art and Design he has influenced hundreds of young designers’ sense of craft quality. The Corona chair is without comparison his most famous design. He died in 2001 but will always be remembered for this solitary magnificent piece of pure artistry.
