LE CORBUSIER LC2

The Le Corbusier sofa set series was originally designed in 1928 for the Maison La Roche house in Paris. The design is the modernist response to the traditional club chair. The LC2 Petit (or Petite) series is the smaller of two versions Le corbusier created. Even in 1928, apartment living in Paris required a well thought out compact furniture design. Le Corbusier recognized this and designed for the need. A noticeable feature of the LC2 is the separate appearance of the additional top seat cushion. Remarkably comfortable and compact, Le Corbusier often referred to the pieces as “cushion baskets.”
