The story of us
A passion for good design—shared by 4 family members—gave birth to the Kardiel brand. Debbie, Jason, Brando and John are borderline-obsessed by Modernism from all eras. We are inspired by design influences from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and love to mix them with contemporary modern and Scandinavian furniture designs. In addition to our original designs, occasionally, we remanufacture iconic, mid-century modern furniture pieces.
We spend our days collaborating with talented furniture designers who bring history, purpose and meaning to our pieces. Working with factories that we have hand-selected for their small-scale production, we then bring their designs from paper to life and deliver them to you.
Kardiel’s creations are comfortable, clever, hand-built and on budget. Our modernist reproductions pair well with our newly designed modern furniture. When replicating original mid-century designs, we study the original materials used and respect these whenever practical.
For our original designs, we create digital renderings and make any necessary adjustments. We then build a physical sample to test and adapt to get the proportions right and ensure comfort. We care about the environment and your health, and ensure that our leathers are dyed with natural oils & waxes - not paints and polymers. Our foam meets fire retardant requirements without added chemicals.
We strongly believe in our products. You'll get 365 days to decide whether your purchase is right for you, and on most Kardiel items, we offer a limited lifetime warranty. Not sure about colors or textures? Free fabric and leather sample packs can be sent via Fedex upon request! Order online or by phone from Kardiel; we will deliver in stock items to most addresses in the U.S within about a week and a half.

Where do we do business?
We design, warehouse, ship and ensure our customer satisfaction from our headquarters in Seattle, Washington. We manufacture the majority of our upholstered & wood furniture at two separate facilities 20-minutes from each other in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Foam is manufactured inside the same shop that upholstered furniture is made. The wood for our solid frames is imported from Australia. Our fabrics are hand-selected from various international textile design firms. Our leather is both local and imported from a tannery just outside of Milan, Italy.
